We are always pleased to welcome new members, as either dancers or musicians. We need more young (or young at heart!) men to join us, to ensure Morris continues to be danced in the Reading area for many more years to come. If you are new to Morris dancing, don't worry, our Foreman will teach you the dances. And don't be put off by our daunting repertoire - the best technique is to concentrate on a few dances from one or two traditions in your first year. The best time to join us is in October, when we start our practice season. Then you'll have the full seven months to learn some dances before we start our summer dancing season in May.
From the beginning of October to the end of April, we meet each Monday evening (except over Christmas & Easter) at 8.00 p.m. for a couple of hours of practice. Our venue is St Mary's Church Hall, Shinfield. The hall, not surprisingly, is close to St Mary's church, in Church Lane. The post code is RG2 9BY and its Ordnance Survey map reference is SU 728683.
